Health & Insurance Benefits
One of the benefits of Equity membership is access to health and insurance coverage. Equity’s plans provide coverage for medical services and weekly disability, as well as accidental death & dismemberment insurance.
Equity members must be in good standing to be eligible for any health and insurance benefits.

Coverage Types
All Artists working on an Equity contract receive insurance coverage. The type and level of coverage depends on your membership, current contract, and weeks worked.
On-Contract
Available to both Equity members and non-members while working on an Equity contract.
Members:
Accident & Sickness Benefits, including medical services and weekly disability
Non-members:
Accident Benefits only
Off-Contract
Available to Equity members while off-contract, based on the number of weeks worked in the previous calendar year (excluding the Amateur, Festival, or Artists’ Collective policies).
Worked a total of eight weeks or more:

Accident coverage is related to an unforeseen and unintentional event causing injury. Sickness coverage is related to a medical condition that may have developed gradually or suddenly, but was not caused by an accident.
Accident & Sickness Benefits include:
Weekly Disability Benefits
Weekly Disability Benefits provide for 60% of contractual weekly earnings up to a maximum of $1,500 per week, in the event a member’s disability is caused by injury or illness.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment
Administered by Chubb Life Insurance Company of Canada
Accidental Death & Dismemberment benefits provide varying levels of reimbursement for injury or loss of life, depending on if the member is off-contract, on-contract, or on-contract with an Extraordinary Risk Rider.
