Report Inappropriate Behaviour

Everyone working in live performance has the right to a safe and respectful workplace.

If you have experienced or witnessed inappropriate behaviour, you are encouraged to raise the issue with the Engager where possible. The Engager has a legal obligation under provincial law — and under Equity’s agreements — to maintain a safe and respectful workplace, and to ensure you know how to report concerns and who to contact.

Reporting to Equity

Equity can support you in addressing concerns of inappropriate behaviour by:

  • Assisting you in bringing an issue to the attention of an Engager
  • Addressing certain concerns directly with the Engager
  • Guiding you through the process of filing a formal complaint under Equity’s Bylaws

To ensure we can provide effective support, we encourage you to file a report as soon as possible. All reports are treated confidentially. Anonymous reports are accepted; however, they can limit Equity’s ability to follow up or take action. Equity will respond to your report within 2 business days.

If you require support related to your contract, please contact your Equity Business Representative directly. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
