Royal Winnipeg Ballet

The Royal Winnipeg Ballet was founded in 1939 by Gweneth Lloyd O.C. and Betty Farrally O.C., making it the longest continuously operated ballet company in North America.

From modest beginnings, the RWB has gone on to perform in 44 countries and 595 cities around the world, achieving many significant milestones, including receiving a Royal charter from Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.

Equity’s first collective agreement with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet was negotiated in 1960.
